Bio-based polyethylene terephthalate can be used in all existing applications of conventional PETs such as beverage containers, food containers, non-food containers, films & sheets, molded parts & components and fabrics. Beverages containers accounted for the largest share in 2017, followed by films & sheets and food containers. Properties such as good physical, optical and lightweight properties along with environmentally friendly nature make bio-based polyethylene terephthalate a key material for these applications. The segment of beverages containers is also identified as the fastest growing use of bio-PET resin during the forecast period.
